CV

Lakeside Productions was founded in 2008 by Richard Eaton and provides a high quality video production service to the broadcast, corporate and wedding industries.

Richard began his career at the BBC Pebble Mill Studios as an assistant film cameraman in 1980 before joining Central Television plc in Birmingham as a studio cameraman in 1982. When Central's new East Midlands Television Centre was completed in 1984, Richard moved to Nottingham to work as a studio camera operator for a wide variety of programmes including drama, light entertainment, children's TV and sport.

In 1988, Richard joined the Central News team as an ENG cameraman.  As a single camera operator, responsible for vision, sound and lighting, he has worked closely with news editors and journalists covering news events across the Midlands and abroad. He has also worked on a variety of documentaries and live satellite broadcasts including sporting events, music concerts, air shows and Royal visits, many of which won awards for ITV.

During the Gulf War of 1991, Richard was selected by Carlton Television to cover events in Israel during the attacks attacks from Iraq and he also spent time in Kosovo with the Royal Engineers after the attacks from NATO, Serbian and Yugoslav forces in 1999.

In 2003, Richard was chosen by ITV to be their embedded cameraman / editor with the RAF during the Iraq conflict. He was the only cameraman attached to the Harrier squadrons operating from the coalition forces air base in Kuwait. He spent 6 weeks filming and editing the footage for ITN which was transmitted all over the world by such companies as CNN, ABC, Fox and Sky News.

Richard returned to Central ITV in 2004 to continue news-gathering in the West Midlands prior to forming Lakeside Productions in 2008.
